Discover Fairfax EggBank's Exceptional Frozen Donor Egg Quality Assurance Practices

At Fairfax EggBank, our frozen donor egg quality control standards are in place to ensure the accuracy of identifying information, including multiple verification checkpoints for all labeling and paperwork. Our onsite lab and our retrieval sites meet at a minimum the standards established by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), Joint Commission, or similarly robust accreditation programs.

Our experienced donor egg team is committed to ensuring that quality assurance measures are rigorously enforced across all of our retrieval clinics. All Fairfax EggBank donor oocytes are reviewed at our central facility in Fairfax, Virginia. Here it must be determined that all of our oocytes meet our high standards for donor egg IVF recipients before being made available.

Fairfax EggBank Quality Assurance Program

Fairfax EggBank employs a dedicated embryology team whose primary purpose is to support its IVF clinic partners. There are three keys we provide to ensure quality control and precise execution:

  • Proprietary warming protocol: At the onset of the clinic partnership, our embryology team will visit your clinic’s embryology laboratory to share our warming protocol.
  • Continual, on-demand lab support: We will continue to monitor each and every result as the partnership progresses. Our embryology team’s goal is to be your clinic’s collaborator in maximizing successful outcomes, and is on hand to review data and techniques with affiliate clinic partners.
  • Embryo development guarantee: We offer the strongest embryo development guarantee of all frozen donor egg banks, giving you an improved chance of conceiving.

Donor Screening and Well-Being

Each egg donor’s individual and family health histories, medical tests, and other background information are rigorously studied to ensure she meets our highly selective standards. In addition to a physical exam, applicants undergo a psychological evaluation with a mental health professional and take an MMPI/PAI or equivalent to assess their mental health and emotional readiness to become an egg donor. We make sure each applicant has a thorough understanding of what is involved in donating her eggs in terms of time, physical implications, logistics, and the medical risks involved in the procedure.

Fairfax EggBank donors are extensively tested and screened according to recommendations or requirements by the ACOG, ACMG, ASRM and FDA prior to ever being allowed to donate. Less than 1% of all donor applicants are approved into the Fairfax EggBank donor program.

With the advancements in technology and updates in ACOG recommendations, the genetic panel has expanded over time. Read more about our GenPanel+ Program.
