Fairfax EggBank welcomes egg donors from across the United States through its travel program.
If you’ve been hoping to become an egg donor, Fairfax EggBank has expanded to additional markets to increase your opportunity to make a difference in the lives of a loving family. Our unique travel program invites potential egg donors from across the United States to apply. Egg donors accepted into the travel program will have the opportunity to travel with a companion to one of our selected partner clinics across the country for the final stages of the donation cycle.
This is a unique opportunity for women who are excellent egg donor candidates, but who reside too far from one of our many partner retrieval clinics.

As part of the process, we will require you to complete a thorough medical evaluation and mental health screening. In most cases, the medical screening will take place in one of our partner locations. Your coordinator will help plan this same day in and out travel. In some cases your medical screening may be done at a local affiliated clinic within driving distance to you. All mental health screening is done virtually with an affiliated counselor for the donor’s convenience. You will have a designated team assigned to you to help answer your questions along the way.
Cycle Planning
In conjunction with planning your donation cycle, a Fairfax EggBank travel coordinator will create an accommodation and travel plan for you and your companion. In addition, as part of the travel program each donor will be allocated a daily stipend for the duration of their stay. You must have an adult (18+) companion with you for your retrieval day.
In-Cycle
You will be required to take self-administered injectable medications during your cycle. You will receive instructions on how to administer these medications. Many of these medications will need to be refrigerated. You will receive storing and handling instructions. These medications will need to travel with you as you will be continuing them until the retrieval.
Retrieval Day
Your clinic coordinator will schedule your retrieval day for you when the time is right. While the procedure itself is only about 20 minutes, you should expect to be in the clinic for approximately 2 hours to allow for prep before retrieval and recovery afterwards.
Transportation will be required back to your hotel where you will continue your recovery in comfort, and rest for the remainder of the day. This should be arranged between you and your companion, though your coordinator may recommend options. Your companion should be with you throughout the day and night following your procedure.
Post Retrieval
Our staff will follow up with you on the day following your procedure. You will have an appointment at the clinic the day after the procedure to ensure you are cleared for travel back home. In most cases, you will travel home following this appointment. Your companion will be required to stay with you the entire day of your retrieval and the day following.
